Inland from the river, but not from the storms
Boonville sits inland from the Ohio as the seat of Warrick County, platted in 1818 on ground shaped more by the region's coal-country geography than by river flooding. That inland position doesn't mean Boonville is immune to water damage -- southern Indiana's storm systems and heavy rain events reach the county seat just as they reach the river towns around it.

Water extraction and structural drying in Boonville has to account for that range of building ages rather than treating every property the same.
